Click name for critiques - Razzle Asbo & 2010 & 2009 news
In 2011 we attended 22 championship shows, and at only 2 of them both dogs left empty handed.
In summary we came home with 18 1st placings and 10 2nd placings (plus a hand full of 3rds,4ths & 5ths)
Asbo won his first RCC gaining his entry into the stud book, but not to be out done Razzle took home 3 CC's & 4RCC's and became a Champion along the way, he's qualified for the Cotswold Boxer Club Dog of the Year to be held in March'12 at the "Boxer Event" and he ended the year as 2nd top winning male.............not bad considering we attended only half of the championship shows available! Thank you to all who have made this year one to remember.
Our last show was meant to be the Cotswold Boxer Club but unfortunatly the ferry was cancelled & we didn't make it. Luckily we received a full refund but of course we were very sad to miss such a great show.
South Wales Boxer Club
We made the long trip down to Cardiff where our judge for the day was John Cormack (SUGARWOOD) and he award both boys a great 2nd in their classes.
London & Home Counties Boxer Club
My first time at L&HC Boxer club and what a show it was, our judge for the day was Betty McDonald (YETEB) Asbo carried on his winning streak by taking 1st place in his Graduate class and Razzle took a lovely 3rd in Open. Then in the dog challenge Asbo showed his socks off & took his first Reserve CC!! Needless to say Mandy & I are over the moon and can't thank Betty McDonald enough for such a lovely day!
Driffield - September
We were blessed with glorious sunshine at Driffield plus we only had just over an hours drive from Mandy's so we got a lie in. Our judge for the day was breed specialist Judy Alton (TARPEN) She awarded Asbo a fantastic first place in Post Graduate & Razzle took another great 2nd in Open. Thank you Mrs Alton for a nice day out.
Irish Boxer Club & Belfast - September
The annual trip to Ireland turned out to be a great one for us! At the Irish under Australian breed specialist Mark Johnston (BLUEPRINT) Asbo won a nice Graduate class, Razzle was 2nd in Open & was called back into the challenge where he took the RCC.
At Belfast under breed specialist Julie Cook (MANIC) Asbo was in a very strong Post Graduate where he took a brilliant 3rd and Razzle was 2nd in Open. Thank you to both judge for a lovely weekend.
Scottish Kennel Club - August
All though we hoped for a sunny SKC August it rained & the show ground was muddy but that didn't seem to bother the dogs. Asbo was in Post Graduate for the first time & suprised me by winning the class, Razzle was next up in Open where he also won! In the challenge both boys pulled out all the stops and were short listed but it was Razzle who stole the show & was awarded his 4th CC from breed specialist Barry Alton (TARPEN) Thank you to Mr Alton for a lovely day & thinking so highly of the boys.
Welsh Kennel Club - August
We once again made the very long trip down to Builth Wells which must be Asbo's favourite place........he showed his socks off to win a great Graduate class under very well respected all rounder Frank Kane.
Bournemouth - August
After having a few weeks off from shows, we were back in the swing of it down at the lovely Bournemouth champ show, where Peter Jolley gave Asbo a very nice 2nd in his first Graduate class.
Blackpool - June
Breed specialist Sandra Parle (ELRAP) made Blackpool a show I will never forget. With Razzle now in open I had no idea what to expect & just hoped we'd get a placing but to my absolute delight he won the class & in the challenge he pulled out all the stops to take his 3rd & crowning CC to become my first Champion. He then beat the bitch CC winner & took best of breed going through to the group, as if my day couldn't get any better he showed beautifully in the working group where he was short listed & did the boxer very proud. Thank you to Sandra for a dream come true & to all our fellow exhibitors for their congratulations.
Three Counties - June
The Three Counties showground is my favourite venue, set in such a beautiful part of the UK it's always a pleasure to be there. We had a nice day with both boys in the cards. Asbo took a good 4th in yearling and Razzle gained a great 2nd in his last limit class. Our judge for the day was Mr Joe Smith (MOWGLI)
Scottish Kennel Club - May
Asbo once again took a great 2nd in yearling under breed specialist Annette Strachan Abel
Tyne Wear & Tees Boxer Club - May
A nice "local" show for us as it's not too far from Mandy's house! Our judge for the day was breed specialist Mrs Barbara Morison(XANDENE) Asbo gained a lovely 2nd in yearling & Razzle took a good 4th in limit.
WELKS - April
Under breed specialist Ann Podmore we had another fantastic day. Asbo was 3rd in yearling and Razzle won limit. He then went on to take the RCC behind the top winning boxer of all time, a very proud moment for us. Thank you Ms Ann Podmore for a wonderful day.
Merseyside Boxer Club - April
After the long trip to Wales it was nice to get to our hotel where dogs & humans were all fast asleep by 8:30pm and we were blessed with a lie in as we only had a 10 minute drive to the Merseyside in the morning. Asbo once again won his class, which makes it his 5th this year out of 6 shows attended. Not to be outdone Razzle won a lovely limit class, this being his 7th limit win moving him into open for any shows we enter from now on. Both boys showed beautifully in the challenge where Razzle went on to take his 2nd CC. Thank you to Mr Ian Basnett(ERISKA) for a wonderful day and to our fellow exhibitors for their congratulations & kind comments.
Working Breeds Association of Wales - April
We made the very long over night trip to Builth Wells where we managed to grab 2 hours sleep in the van before the show, each year I say I won't do it again but I still do. However it was worth it, as our judge for the day, Mr Eric Hancock (KATHPHILLER) awarded Asbo a 1st in novice.
Northern Boxer Club - April
Once again the boys were on top form doing double class wins. Asbo won a lovely yearling class & Razzle won a strong limit class (his 4th this year) and was later awarded the RCC from breed specialist Denise Pye (BURNDEN) Thank you to Denise for a great day.
Essex & Eastern Co's Boxer Club - March
At our 3rd champ show of the year Razzle continued his amazing run to once again win a strong limit class. He then went on to take the reserve challenge certificate under all round Karina LeMare who had previously judged him in 2009, where he won novice. It was lovely to see her opinion had not changed.
Asbo was not at this show as his co-owner & breeder Mandy Laidlaw was judging the bitches.
Crufts - March
Mr Eddie Banks (NORWATCH SUNHAWK) was our judge for Crufts 2011 and he gave us a day never to forget. Asbo was in a very strong Yearling class of 17 where he showed like a star to win the class. Razzle was next up in his usual Limit class, as always he put in a sterling performance & to my total surprise he won his class! He was also entered in the Good Citizen class where he had to be exhibited, he showed fantastically to take an excellent 2nd place against a lovely Champion. A big thank you to Mr Banks for a wonderful day & congratulations to all who won at Crufts.
Scottish Boxer Club - February
Our first show of the year was a great day, Asbo kicked it off by winning Novice and Razzle topped the day when he won Limit, our judge was all rounder Keith Nathan.
